From there, you need to learn all the bits and pieces it takes to write a complete program.

In order to get a job, you will need to reach a level of proficiency with building and modifying systems to suit people's needs. There are many different kinds of developers, so the more you learn about the types of jobs and the work to be done, the more you will be able to choose what you like.

As someone who wants to become a developer, you should take the shortest path to learning the necessary skills and finding your first gig. From there, you can reevaluate what you've experienced, where you want to go, and how you can get there.
